Ipsy

Ipsy | July 2016 Unboxing

Ipsy unboxing July 2016The theme for July’s Ipsy was Hot Summer Nights and the makeup bag reflected the fun and carefree theme with a holographic material and pretty umbrellas (I thought they were candy at first). My favorite part is the salmon-colored interior, not enough for me to keep this one to myself, though. I’ll be gifting the bag, since I’m currently on a mission to declutter.Ipsy unboxing July 2016Vasanti Professional Eyeshadow Brush

I’m always glad when I find a brush in my Ipsy. I don’t have anything like this in my collection yet and I know I’ll be using it often to pat down eyeshadows on my eyelids. I also like that the tip is tapered. I think that’ll come in handy.

BellaPierre Banana Setting Powder

I haven’t ever tried a banana powder, so I’m glad Ipsy will be giving me the opportunity! I don’t usually set my undereyes, but maybe that’ll change after I try this powder.

Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash

I haven’t really heard any reviews for MUFE’s mascaras, which sounds like a bad thing. In any case, I suppose I’ll find out how good this one is when I get a chance to try it. The directions for applying on the outer box were interesting, by the way. They recommended curling your eyelashes by placing the brush on top of them, and then zig zaging and pulling upwards from underneath. I’ve never seen anyone apply mascara like that, but I guess I’ll give it a go.Ipsy unboxing July 2016GLAMGLOW GravityMud Firming Treatment

This is that infamous metallic, peel-off mask that has been making the rounds on YouTube. Although I’m totally a mask junkie, I’m not a fan of peel-offs. They don’t mix well with my already dry skin. I’ll still be giving this one a try though, since I’m sure it’ll be some fun to see my face coated in silver.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre

I’ve received a sample of this from Birchbox before and I wasn’t a fan of it then, or when I finished it. It leaves an oily finish on my skin that I just can’t get used to. I think I’ll try gifting this one.

July’s Ipsy didn’t knock my socks off, but it wasn’t disappointing by any means. I liked the variety of brands and items that I received and it will be fun trying some new stuff.
